REL670 – Optimized for Transmission Applications
The REL670 Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) offer versatile protection, monitoring, and control capabilities, providing maximum flexibility and performance tailored for transmission overhead lines and cables. These powerful IEDs deliver distance protection for double circuit, parallel operating, and series compensated lines. The flexible and expandable hardware allows the REL670 to meet your specific requirements, supporting applications with multiple algorithms and comprehensive bay control functions, including synchronizing, synchro-check, dead-line detection, and auto-reclosing.
Additionally, REL670 IEDs can protect and control multiple objects, such as a line and a transformer, with a single device. They offer high-sensitivity protection for power lines with minimal communication needs at the remote end. Each of the six zones can be independently measured and set, with six distinct setting groups, ensuring high reliability across all line types. The distance and earth-fault protection functions are capable of communicating with remote ends through any communication scheme, providing full control and interlocking functionality required for substation apparatus control.
The REL670 provides both customized and pre-configured protection solutions. The pre-configured IEDs come equipped with complete functionality adapted for four different configuration alternatives.
