Hitachi RXBA Fuse Supervisory Relay

Description

RXBA – Fuse supervisory relay

The RXBA 4 is a static, three-phase relay designed to detect fuse failures by comparing the voltages across both sides of each phase fuse. It quickly identifies single-phase, two-phase, and three-phase fuse failures in less than 8 ms. Consequently, it helps prevent unwanted tripping by blocking high-speed distance protection relays when a fuse failure occurs.

Furthermore, engineers can use the RXBA 4 to block other protection relays that may operate unnecessarily during fuse failures. These include undervoltage relays and underimpedance relays. Therefore, it helps improve protection coordination and maintain reliable power system operation.

Main Features:

  • Main and Pilot Fuse Failure Detection: Detects fuse failures in both main and pilot fuse groups.

  • Miniature Circuit Breaker Compatibility: Supports applications that use miniature circuit breakers (MCBs).

  • Blocking and Alarm Outputs: Provides separate contact outputs for blocking and signalling failures in main and pilot fuse groups.

  • No Auxiliary Supply Required: Operates without an additional auxiliary power supply.

  • LED Fault Indication: Provides clear LED indications to help engineers identify faulty fuses quickly.
